Waikele Real Estate

Waikele can be found across the freeway north of Waipahu. Also known as the “pride of the leeward side”, Waikele is largely developed by Amfac Corporation. Development started during the early 1990’s; starting with the construction of two multifamily complexes and one single family subdivision. Currently, Waikele has twelve multifamily townhouse complexes and nine single family subdivisions.

The City of Honolulu maintains two parks in Waikele. A championship golf course is open to the public. Maintenance is being funded by the local government. Kamehameha highway, Waikele’s official boundary, is looped with lollipop shaped banyan tress. Such landmark has earned the community various nature landscaping awards. Most notable of which would be the awards handed out by the Honolulu City Council, The Outdoor Circle and Scenic Hawaii Incorporated.

Participation in the said events is free of charge. What draws the most number of participants would be the Waikele’s Community Associations Hawaiian Adventurer’s Summer event. For a minimal fee, kids and parents can join in various water sports and family bonding activities.

The Waikele Green Team is the community’s eco-warriors. On top of their clean up drive, the Green Team is also responsible for maintaining Waikele’s various landscape attractions.

The residents of Waikele are so keen on preserving their community that they had added two more community socio-civic groups: The Neighborhood Security Watchers (NSW) and the Taking Action against Graffiti Team (TAAG Team). The TAAG team was formed last 2004 and is composed of Waikele residents who volunteer to clean up the community from graffiti damage. The NSW works hand in hand with the Honolulu Police Department in providing information regarding crime and suspicious characters. Other neighborhood groups in Waikele include Royal Pines, Sunset Pointe, Fairway Village and Highland View Estates. All volunteer groups in Waikele are accredited by the local government.
