Hawaii Kai Real Estate

Hawaii Kai is located east of Diamond Head and is one of our island’s premier planned communities, developed by Henry Kaiser and Kaiser-Aetna in the 1950’s known for its rich quality of life and easy access to ocean amenities. It is highly sought after and often considered a boater’s dream place to live because it is the only community on the island where you can buy a home with a boat dock on a marina.

Hawaii Kai is home to more than 30,000 residents. Some of the most desirable homes on Oahu are located here in the neighborhoods of Koko Kai, Triangle, and Portlock, where you will find multi-million dollar homes with amazing views of Maunalua Bay and Diamond Head. Many residents belong to rowing clubs and their canoes can be seen in the marina and out on Maunalua Bay.

Hanauma Bay is one of the most famous and visited snorkeling spots on Oahu. It is a nature preserve and prevents fishing, thereby giving visitors a real treat with stunning fish everywhere.

Sandy Beach, a world-class body surfing spot is another popular beach in Hawaii Kai that both tourists and locals love to visit. Be careful, though the waves here are not for the faint of heart.

For some dry land fun, try the Makapu’u Lighthouse hike, a 2-mile paved trail that leads to one of Hawaii’s familiar landmarks, the Lighthouse and a majestic view of the coastline and the island of Molokai in the distance. Another popular hike is Koko Head Crater. This hike may look easy when you first start out, but it can be exhausting. The view at the top is oh so worth it though! Amazing views!!
